DESCRIPTION
Internship – Human Resources & Business Administration

The American Diabetes Association is proud to announce the availability of an internship in our Human Resources Division. This internship will provide invaluable exposure to progressive practices and initiatives in the field of Human Resources. This is an unpaid internship but does include paid parking or metro reimbursement.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS AND OVERVIEW

This position will introduce you to all facets of human resources through hands-on training and support from the HR professionals at our organization. Specific responsibilities include providing programmatic research, implementation and support for Human Resources Division products and services including:

* Rewards and recognition program
* Performance management process
* Data collection and analysis
* Human capital measurement
* Talent acquisition and retention
* Employee referral program

This exciting opportunity is located at our Home Office located in Alexandria, Virginia; easily accessible via a free shuttle from the Pentagon City Metro. When you join us, you can expect challenging work assignments in a professional, friendly atmosphere. Position is available immediately and will go thru the Spring Semester 2010.  This is an unpaid internship but can work towards credits and experience.

REQUIREMENTS
* Currently enrolled as a graduate or upper-level undergraduate student
* Commitment to a flexible work schedule of at least 10-15 hours per week
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
* Proficiency in database management and/or the manipulation of spreadsheets
* Experience gathering information through internet research
* Excellent writing, research and communication skills
