DESCRIPTION
The Washington, DC area office is seeking an Associate Manager for Tour de Cure (cycling) events with demonstrated experience to identify, recruit, cultivate, and recognize volunteers for their accomplishments. The volunteer/staff team is responsible for the achievement of fund-raising goals related to corporate sponsorship, cyclist and team recruitment, and wrap-around events. The desired candidate would be a success-oriented self starter with experience in working with and through groups to achieve desired outcomes. Cold call sales experience and customer relationship building experiences are highly desirable. Strong presentation, oral and written skills are required. Must know how to close the deal, confirm mutual understandings, and manage volunteer participation to successful outcomes.

 



REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* Three years work experience
* Must pay close attention to details, be able to manage multiple activities, and describe ADA's vision of successful events to volunteers
* Familiarity with fund-raising for cycling events/rides is strongly preferred
* Must have experience in working with diverse volunteer groups from many employment and socio-economic backgrounds
* Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends
* Access to a car as frequent, daily travel is required

* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
