Our goal is to provide encouragement, education and support and meet the needs of over 23 million Americans living with diabetes. Our employees promote the mission of the Association by assisting and connecting callers to local resources and providing the latest information on diabetes management.

This position requires individuals to listen actively to constituent concerns and resolve caller needs using online databases. We are looking for excited, nurturing and passionate individuals to join our dedicated team of highly trained professionals.

Minimum experience:
* Experience in a customer service or call center position, handling inbound telephone calls and public contact
* Excellent writing skills
* 1 year of professional work experience
* High school diploma required
* Typing speed minimum of 30 wpm
* Familiarity with CRT/Personal Computer


REQUIREMENTS
* Must be available to work 11:30am - 8:00pm
* Counseling and/or social work experience preferred
* Customer service knowledge with problem resolution skills
* Ability to handle sensitive calls, occasionally from individuals affected by a debilitating disease
* Tact, courtesy and social sensitivity
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure accomplishing multiple tasks simultaneously
* Ability to work independently and as a team player
* Ability to remain in seat for most of the work day with the exception of lunch and breaks
* Ability to follow established departmental policy's and procedures
